Sunday 31 July 2022 Trinity 7 (Year C)

Ecclesiastes 1:2, 12-14

Colossians 3:1-11

Luke 12:13-21

A very warm welcome to any visitors worshipping with us. At the Communion services those who are confirmed and those who normally receive Communion in their own church (whatever denomination) are invited to receive communion.  All are welcome to receive a blessing.

Prayer for Trinity 7

Loving Father, keep us from covetousness, and envying those who seem to have everything in this world, while so many of Your children often seem to be so deprived. Help us to realise how short this life is and the futility of living for earthly possessions. Help us to live our lives in spirit and truth, so that by dying to self, we live for Christ and to His praise and glory. AMEN.

Prayer for the Ukraine

Lord, we pray for the nation and people of Ukraine; give them a sense of hope in their situation.  May they receive the love and nourishment they deserve, and may they strengthen each other through the horrors of war.  Encourage those who work for peace and reconciliation, give them understanding and patience and a resolve not to give up.  We pray that a peaceful resolution to their current plight may yet be found, and we pray that those in authority on both sides may seek your peace.  May they all know the love of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Prayer for the sick

We pray for those who are sick and who ask for our prayers:

Heather; Jackie; Ann; Dave; Daisy; Pat; Bishop Peter; Connie; Brenda; Keith; Maxwell; Richard; Sarah; Simon; C; Ken; Chris; Jane; Monica; Hester, John; David;  David L.
